Academic Accomplishments

Everybody has worked for a manager who couldn't lead. That gap, between running the day and pointing the way, is the whole reason this degree exists.

Organizational Leadership is about vision. Setting direction, influencing people toward goals that won't pay off for a while, and shaping the culture and values that let an organization actually adapt when the ground shifts (which it always does). Leadership decides where the thing is going and drives the change to get there. Management is the other half of the work: the day-to-day, the resources, the planning, the granular execution that moves an organization toward strategy leadership already set. Both matter. The best managers I've known, and the best I've tried to be, carry real leadership training underneath the operational skill.

UMass Global's BA in Organizational Leadership builds that foundation across marketing, HR, economics, ethics, team building, and finance, so the strategy stays connected to how a business actually runs.

The three samples that follow come from that coursework. A personal leadership philosophy where I map my own development honestly (including the parts I'm still bad at), a team paper on how leaders actually get built through training, mentoring, and experience, and a capstone that runs four frameworks against the work I've done at Samsung, Sunrun, and Infoblox. Theory put up against situations I've had to manage in the field, which is the only test I trust.
